iron fencing has - with sagging gate?
We have an iron fence, and the gate is sagging. We installed a cable - turnbuckle - cable with a eye hook, which did help some but the really problem appears to be the post that the gate is on has leaned in at the top towards the gate which is causing the problems. Now with an iron gate everything is welded together all sections. So I just can't dig up the post and re-set it as the 5 other 6ft sections are all connected. Would another cable - turnbuckle - work on the non-gate section of the fence to pull the top of the post over away from the gate? Or what other options are there?
If the support bar for the gate is leaning over, then connecting a cable with a turnbuckle to the top of the pole and anchoring to another pole several feet along the fence ot to a solid wall will help correct the lean or tilt of the gate post.
You could also try framing the gate to see if that will help.
