Can anyone tell me where I can buy some washers, and machined screws-hex heads?
I am in the process of repairing my xbox 360 and I need to get 16 nylon washers (5mm), 16 metal washers (5mm), and 8 machined screws-hex head (5x10mm).
What are some local places I can buy these at? There's a Best Buy, Home Depot, Radio Shack, Lowe's, Target, Auto Zone, around here. What looks like the best place to check out?
Oh...I actually did this before! I went to lowe's to get the screws but they didn't have the washers so I used the fiber and metal washers which worked for a while. Then I just bought a used elite from gamestop.
Hate to tell you but fixing xboxes is kind of a pain in the butt.
You can probably find these at any hardware store (hd/lowes or autozone;) target, radio shack and best buy probably won't have them; though radio shack has the paste you need (arctic silver).
I did it 3-4 times then said enough is enough...you'll find your time is worth more than the difference in cost between repairing and replacing an xbox. In this case you should get a 1 year warranty from gamestop. I've had mine for longer and no problems whatsoever.
