How do I reassemble a Cougar Mod 8000 blank firing gun?

I did my best to interpret the instructions, but they're massively engrish and almost unintelligible. I was playing around with it when I took out either the "take down latch" or the "slide spring button." The slide now won't go all the way back and lock down into place - it gets stuck about a centimeter too short. I realize that I may have to take it to a gunsmith to have them fix it, but if I could get an answer here that would seriously get down on the hassle.

I don't mean to sound crass, but,WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??!!!!!Unless you know EXACTLY what you're doing, don't mess with a gun.Sounds like you've got a retaining clip/ring/latch that's backward or maybe not positioned quite right.Be very careful!If there's a return spring,it will be tight enough to put an eye out easily.
