Travelling The Planet With The Baby In Tow
As the world becomes smaller, flying to different countries becomes an even more utilized travel form. However, if you have Baby with you, this can pose a whole mess of problems. This doesn't need to stop you from traveling, as airline companies are adapting as well. Knowing how to get a child's passport quickly, what to expect on your flight, and how to handle being in a foreign country with your child can really reduce the stress load if you're a Mommy who likes to travel.
Everyone in your family will need a passport for traveling abroad, including your baby. It's best to locate or renew passports way in advance in your trip to avoid any potential troubles, but we all know that not every trip is planned. So, if you need an expedited pasport, you are able to get one. However, it might cost a little more. In order to obtain your passport, you will need two professional passport photos. These can be taken at your local drugstore (be sure to check yours) or at the passport office itself. Phone ahead of time to make sure that the location has the means to photograph your baby, as not all of them do. You will also need to bring a birth certificate for Baby and two forms of identification for yourself, and anyone else in your family.
There are some things you can do in order to make your trip a little easier when booking your flight. Check for times where the plane isn't as crowded. Weekdays are good options, as they are generally cheaper as well. Try to get red-eye or overnight flights because these are times when Baby is more prone to sleepiness during these times. Look for seats in the bulkhead seating sections, which have more wiggle room for you and Baby. Also, you will definitely want to spend the extra cash on a non-stop flight, this will save you a lot of trouble.
Although many airlines offer free tickets for infants, you might consider buying a ticket for your baby, as this will give you a little extra room to work in. The flight attendants will do everything they can to help make your trip easier, like warming up a bottle or bringing extra pillows and blankets.
Be sure to include plenty of down time in your travel plans. Trying to squeeze everything into one day or one week will only have you and Baby tired and stressed. Bring your own baby food, because many countries carry their own brands with different ingredients that could make Baby's tummy upset. It's also very important to bring your own water as well, as this really can affect everyone in your family.
Traveling with Baby can be a great experience. Preparing for whatever you can beforehand will end up saving you much unwanted stress. Once again, get an expedited passport only if you need to, otherwise get it plenty of time in advance. Knowing how to get a child's passport fast will definitely help in case there is an emergency. Most importantly, ask around and get advice from Mommies who have traveled with babies before, as they will provide the best advice.
Spy Shots: 2012 Mercedes-Benz SL begins a return to its roots (Autoblog)

Luxury
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SL isn't set to debut for another two months at the
Detroit Auto Show, but M-B gave us a sneak peak at the "S-Class of Roadsters"
at its Advanced Design Studio in Carlsbad, California earlier today.
"SL" stands for Super Light, but the last several iterations were anything
but. Loaded with luxury and designed as a drop-top Grand Tourer, the SL -
despite its badge - has always been a heavy weight. But for 2013, Mercedes is
attempting to bring the SL back to its roots with a body in white comprised of
90 percent aluminum. Only the A pillars and roof crossmember use high-strength
steel for rollover protection, and unladen with body panels, the chassis comes
in 243 pounds lighter than the current model, with the production version
tipping the scales at approximately 3,900 pounds - 308 pounds lighter than the
2012 version. With a revamped drivetrain (no details yet), Mercedes claims
that fuel consumption will also be reduced by 30 percent.
The aluminum chassis is a first for M-B, and utilizes a smattering of high-
tech production methods, including chilled cast longitudinal ...
