Blinds: A Practical Answer For Window Treatments
You have just gotten your window blinds, drapes and curtains cleaned and put back up in all the rooms in your home. Taking them down, sending the ones that have to be professionally cleaned to the cleaners and washing the rest in your washing machine, then putting them all back up took a lot of resources. There is also the price tag for the cleaners. What a chore that was! You do not need to go through that again but is there a commonsense answer? Yes, there is. Blinds might be just the solution you need and there are way more options than you could think.
Blinds are available in many styles, colours and materials. You can easily find the best ones for each room. Each rooms personality can be complimented, contrasted or blended into by selecting the style, color and/or material that most nearly fits what you envision for that room. You will choose roman style for the sitting room, vertical for the sliding glass door, and venetian for the bedrooms. Material options include vinyl, aluminium, fabric and even wood. The color range is vast and if the color you want isn't available in readymade blinds, you may be able to get them customized, especially if they are made of fabric.
For most blinds, cleaning basically means wiping them with a material, either dry or damp. Fabric blinds may need more than that but even most of them can be cleaned simpler than drapes. Vinyl and aluminium are the easiest to clean since those materials are not as penetrable and the dirt and dust remains on the surface. With wood and fabric, you are going to need to be certain they are treated so they are resistant to dirt being inserted in the material. Intermittently, you may want to treat wooden blinds with a wood product to maintain the beauty of the wood. This may not be required if they're lined with a clear polyurethane finish.
Blinds have an additional advantage over curtains besides cleaning. You've got more control of the amount of light you let in and maintaining privacy at the same time. That is very tough to do with curtains. With curtains and drapes, they're open or closed. Sheers help a little to let in more light and still have some privacy but that means more to take down, clean and put back up. Blinds can be fully open, entirely closed, in part closed or open with the slats or panels changed to let some light thru.
Take a good look into replacing your curtains with blinds. Chances are that you're going to see them as a very practical solution to window treatments for your house. So that you can get an idea of what options you have, go browsing when you can spend some time reading through what is available. When you are prepared for a rather more serious look, talk to a representative who can help you make the top choices for every one of your rooms.

Washer drum problem?
I have a Kenmore 88752 Top Load Stacked Washer/Dryer. The drum is not balanced and it makes noise when it spins. I checked the level and it seems to be OK. Is there a problem with drum bearing? Is it better to buy a new unit instead of fixing it? Thx...
depends on its age, if its over 5 yrs old replace it,
